Great Lakes Chapter Spring 2025 Meeting

The Great Lakes Chapter meeting has been set for a single day, Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute in Adrian, Michigan.

This SAPFM meeting is open to all SAPFM dues paying members and their guests.

There will be a request of $15 per person to cover charges for coffee, soda, lunch and snacks. We will have lunch at the meeting site. The lunch will be sub sandwiches. Please RSVP so we have an accurate number of attendees for lunch reservations and refreshments.

Doors open at 9AM. Arrive, relax, and have coffee and snacks with friends.

9:30 to 10:30 - Show and Tell, bring any completed piece or any piece under construction to discuss and show off. Also, please bring any tools, books, etc. you’d like to sell or pass on to others

10:30 to 11:30 – Carving a Candlestand – Dan Reahard

11:30 to Noon – Agenda for Fall meeting, DIA Update, national SAPFM update.

Noon to 1:00 - Lunch at Sam Beauford Woodworking Institute.

1:00 to 2:00 – Introduction to Marquetry and Hammer Veneering – Dennis Heyza

2:00 to 4:00 – Design Roundtable – Open Discussion

The Great Lakes Chapter's spring meeting is history. The meeting was a success with about 20 people attending. Great presentations were delivered by Phil Mueller, Dennis Heyza, Dan Reahard and Dennis Stachurski. We closed the meeting out with a group discussion of the process that each of us goes through in designing and planning an upcoming project. Dale Ausherman's write up in Pins and Tales gives a much more detailed account of the meeting. Our next meeting has been scheduled for November 8, 2025 in Monroe, MI.
