The Great Lakes Chapter of SAPFM is planning on reviving a past activity that was very successful. For several years, we organized and participated in an event at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The event consisted of an exhibition of furniture, demonstrations of period woodworking techniques, assisting DIA docents with tours of their period furniture collection and making kits for youth to assemble in the museum's art studios. The resumption of this event is scheduled for October 25th and 26th, 2025.
Our Chapter is smaller than it was 15 years ago, so we would like to open participation to all SAPFM members. If you are interested in taking part in this event, please contact Dennis Heyza or myself. We could use help in any of the 4 activities listed above.
