Vasyl Baranov

This bed, titled Royal Heritage, was handcrafted by Vasyl Baranov in the early 2000s for his own home bedroom. Drawing inspiration from Baroque and Rococo traditions, the piece features intricate hand carving, turned elements, and gilded accents that convey a sense of royal grandeur. The design centers around heraldic motifs with symbolic lions and crowns, evoking aristocratic heritage and timeless craftsmanship.

Made entirely by hand using traditional joinery techniques, the bed is constructed from solid hardwoods and finished with a rich, polished patina. Every detail—from the symmetrical carving on the headboard to the ornamental footboard—reflects Baranov’s deep respect for historical European furniture styles.

In 2025, this bed earned two international distinctions:

• 2nd Prize, Dali's Mustache International Art Contest (Spain) — Applied Arts & Design, for its outstanding historical concept and execution.

• 2nd Prize, American Edition International Contest (USA) — Design nomination, recognizing its artistic value and craftsmanship.

This piece stands as both a personal heirloom and an award-winning example of traditional woodworking and artistic expression.
